Two options — one to access an underground cellar from above, and the other to access bottles in high racking.
Access to a below-ground cellar requires a dedicated stair or a ladder accessed through a trap door. Our ladder option has an extendable upper section for easier access onto the ladder and can be tucked away under the trap door when stowed. High racking with out-of-reach wine bottles requires a ladder that needs to be designed in, not solved with a stepladder. We hand-craft both ladder options in our Mornington workshop, available in most timber species and typically matched to the racking they serve.
A sliding ladder on a metal rail that runs the length of the racking, giving easy access to the upper bottles. Rail fittings are customised to your finishes — stainless steel, antique bronze or brass — to match the cellar. Racking ladders can be supplied as part of our wine racking.
For cellars entered from above, a ladder extension that runs on a track and stows below a floor trapdoor. Our pull-up extension section rises and locks into place, so there’s a safe handhold to step onto and off the ladder as you move between the room above and the cellar below. Engineered and built to the geometry of the opening.

Cellar Creations designs and builds bespoke wine cellars and racking. We do not sell wine, spirits, beer or any other alcohol, and we do not hold a liquor licence.
A third party website is currently publishing a listing under our business name, address and telephone number describing us as a retailer of wine and spirits, with trading hours and a photograph that are not ours, alongside alcohol offered for sale. That listing was not authorised by us and the information in it is false.
We are also receiving a high volume of enquiries that are not genuine, including requests for video consultations to work through design options and costings where there is no project behind them. It is taking us longer than usual to separate a real enquiry from a false one. If your enquiry has been met with more caution than you expected, that is why, and we are sorry for it. We ask genuine clients to bear with us.
