Commercial cellars

Commercial Wine Cellars

A commercial cellar earns its keep — stores more, takes heavier use, and in a hospitality space, sells wine while it’s there. Built by registered builders for the venues where that matters.

Built for

Where wine is part of the business.

For property developers, investors, commercial builders, architects and interior designers.

A commercial cellar earns its keep. It has to store more, take heavier use, and — in a restaurant or retail space — sell wine and make an impression while it’s at it. We build cellars for the venues where that matters: where the cellar is both infrastructure and a feature on the floor.

Cellar Creations is the specialist cellar division of First Impressions Projects, which holds both domestic and commercial building licences.

We know what a commercial project carries: the program, the certifier, the variations, the opening date. That’s precisely why, on most commercial projects, we supply the componentry and the documentation, and the builder installs. Nobody needs another builder on site. What they need is a supplier who understands what it costs when the cellar isn’t ready.

How it works

We start with a feasibility study and scope of works. What the space will take, what the cellar will cost, and exactly where our scope begins and ends. No ambiguity at variation stage, and a clear cost line early enough to be useful.

Once engaged, we work as part of the team. Technical documentation, componentry specification, climate strategy, setting out and racking selection — developed with the design team and the builder, and delivered as a coordinated set. The same package we provide on residential projects.

Then we supply, and support the install. In Victoria we can build and install. Elsewhere, we supply the componentry and stay involved: detailing, setting out, and support on site when the program tightens.

Compliance & coordination

Commercial fitouts answer to building codes, certifiers and program. We document, detail and coordinate so the cellar sits inside the fitout — not bolted on after.

Built to program

Fitouts run to opening dates. Our parent company holds a commercial building licence, so we understand the program the project is working to and supply against it. And the deadline isn’t negotiable.

Capacity & access

High-density racking that holds serious volume while keeping stock fast and safe to reach during service.

Adapted for point of sale

Any of our racking systems can be adapted for a commercial setting: the same builds, with the layout and sightlines tuned to display bottles and move stock, rather than for a private collection.

Display that sells

In hospitality and retail the cellar is a sales tool. Glass-fronted, backlit and concave display systems put the collection to work and lift the room.

Climate at scale

Larger volumes, higher heat loads and constant door traffic mean cooling specified for commercial duty, not a domestic unit asked to do too much.

THE RANGE

Eleven racking systems.

Each designed in-house and built in our Mornington workshop. Five are original concepts unique to Cellar Creations.
