Cellar Tech holds the wine in open air. Each peg cantilevers through a back span, which keeps every bottle in perfect alignment while leaving the face of the rack almost entirely clear. There is no cage, no lattice, no frame across the front — just the collection, unobstructed.
It is the most minimal system we build, and the one that gives a cellar the most presence. Every installation is designed for its space: set out on split battens, the pegs can run as a complete cantilevered wall, or the system can be integrated into cabinetry and joinery in smaller runs.
An open face usually costs you bottles. Cellar Tech doesn’t — around 100 bottles per square metre of rack face, the same as a conventional cellar wall, with none of the frame across the front.
Timber is open. Pegs are typically Tasmanian oak, but can be made from any species, with the backing board in any ply veneer — so the system is matched to the room rather than the room to the system.

A cantilever has nowhere to hide. Every peg carries its bottle unsupported, so the setting-out has to be exact — get it right and the wine appears to float.
